The Patient/Family Information Center provides patients and their families with the most up-to-date information on cancer diagnosis, treatment and support. We feel that knowledge about all aspects of cancer and cancer treatment can help patients to better cope with their illness, lead fuller lives, and access the highest quality care.
The Information Center offers a wide variety of literature and audiovisual materials on all types of cancer and cancer-related issues to browse or borrow. Internet access with direct links to informative sites, and information on support groups and complementary treatments are also available. Specially trained volunteers are on hand to help visitors access these resources and find the information they need.
New electronic health management tools are available free on the “My Health” section of the Atlantic Health website. These sophisticated new tools help speed you through tests at the hospital, gather up-to-the minute information about medical conditions and keep tabs on your medical care. Trained volunteers are available to assist you with accessing www.atlantichealth.org
Available to patients is a variety of hand-made hats and caps donated by service organizations in the community for individuals who may be coping with hair loss. There is also information about where to purchase wigs and mastectomy products in the Morris County area.
(The Carol G. Simon Cancer Center has programs available to assist those who cannot afford to purchase breast prosthesis and mastectomy bras).
